How To Cure Your Body – Living Water and Salt
In the Gospel of John chapter four, Jesus talks with a Samaritan lady at the well where she was going to fill her container with water and then return to her home. He asked her for some water and she was surprised that he a Jew was talking with her a woman. Jews did not communicate with Samaritans and considered women not worth talking with at all at all.
Jesus said to her that if she knew with whom she was talking she would have asked for Living Water. This aroused her curiosity and so they lapsed into speech wherein she was delightfully surprised by his declarations and ran back to the village assuring the villagers that she had met the Christ. Of course, they high tailed it to where Jesus was and invited him and his apostles to remain with them.
Again later in John 7, Jesus talks about living water where he quotes scripture ‘Out of the believers heart shall flow rivers of living water.' John 7:38. In every segment somewhere in the Bible, there are references to the Living Water and it is metaphorical as a reference to the knowledge of Divine Wisdom and also the curative powers of true fresh water.
As we journey through the gospels we find references to salt and how vital it is as part of our survival, ‘have salt in yourselves and be at peace with one another.' Mark 9:50. This too is metaphorical as it applies both to the wisdom of discernment and adding seasoning to meals. By using the reference to salt, Jesus advises us to be fully alive like food is with seasoning.
While we may find altercations with family and friends to be disquieting he suggests dealing with it and not brooding over it or bearing unnecessary grudges. So while the parable of both water and salt drift over our awareness with enthusiasm for both life and wisdom we shall unleash our abilities to cope with all that comes our way.
There is one more additional benefit to all of this historical preaching and that is through drinking 8 – 10 x 8oz. glasses of clear water every day we may heal our bodies of many ailments. Can you imagine clearing allergies, headaches, depression, lupus, high cholesterol, and many more through the simple task of drinking water? Yes, but it has to be diligently followed in order to reap the entire benefits of water, try it you have nothing to lose.
To allow for the increase in water it is recommended to add one quarter to half a teaspoon of sea salt to our diets daily, which assists our bodies to cope with the extra water intake. The water by itself shall not do the trick completely that is why it must be accompanied with salt. While we may have a quandary about adding salt, please rest assured that our bodies demand a small amount of salt daily for proper functioning. Contrary to popular belief a salt free diet is harmful not complimentary to our bodies ability to function.
So, there you have it and it is no small thing to drink 6 to 10 glasses per day but two in the morning before breakfast and a glass one half hour before meals and two more within about two hours after the meal. Before night falls, you shall drink your required amount and your body shall thank you by healing itself.
