Would this be a good engagement/wedding ring?
My wife really likes the ring but i wanted to know if it would be a good ring and that it would hold up for a loooong time.
heres the description:
4.04ctTW GORGEOUS 2 pc Engagement/ Wedding/ Bridal Ring Set a 2.50ct Brilliant cut round in a 4 prong Tiffany setting on a simple 2.5mm band set with channel set rounds (10 in all) with a matching band that can we worn together or separate as an eternity ring ( 12 rounds in all) Solid Sterling Silver Core - hallmarked "925"- Rhodiumed with an 18kt white gold platinum finish ring sits 8mm above the finger ... bands worn together are 6mm thick Total weight is 7.79 grams.
I personally would never buy a ring that is not solid gold. Especially if you want something that will last for a long time. The coating of gold that's on the outside will eventually crack and peel off. I would rather have a smaller diamond, but mounted on a solid gold band. The quality of the band is important. Solid gold will last a lifetime.
