DVD-ROM,doesnt works,how to mak it work?
by pressing eject button it doesnt comes out,but the light does glows and by putting pin in,the CD tray comes out,but it doesnt plays,while trouble shooting it says tht device is working properly.......
help
Some computer programs have the ability to lock the tray door. This is a useful feature because it can prevent you from accidentally opening the tray when the program is doing something, like writing to a disc. If the program malfunctions, it may not have unlocked the tray door. Try rebooting the computer to fix that problem.
If rebooting didn't help, then the problem may be that the motor that opens/closes the tray is busted. In that case, you'll have to buy a new DVDROM drive. Even if the problem is the motor, you should still be able to use the DVDROM drive -though you'll have to use a pin to get the drive door open.
Another problem may be that the tray switch is dirty or busted. The tray switch is a mechanical switch that is controlled by the tray and it tells the DVDROM drive whether or not the tray is out or in.
If the switch is not operating properly, it is possible that the DVDROM drive thinks that the tray is out when it is actually in. This means that you won't be able to run any discs.
