What would you call this poem?
wrote a poem to commemorate the joining of my Anglo-Saxon family side with the Picti (Scottish) side of my family and showing their importance they played throughou history and how united we are strong. BUT I cannot think of a fitting name for it... any ideas?
I posted this in the poetry section and got no response and I need one quickly lol
This is an Oak challenging a Birch
This is the deer whom slays the bear
This is the swan to summon to eagle
This is the fortress of my anceint hope
This is the stronghold of the land
This is the protector of bounteous plains
Thi is the adorded marshall of armies
This is the conquerers and the unconquered
This is brother and brother
This is Saecesn and Picit
This is lions three and lion standing
This is moors and mountains
Thus is azure main and nourished meadow
This is rose interwound with thistle bound
This is the soil in blood manifested
Your images are good. I would personally get rid of all the 'This is'. That would make it more poetic and less like an enumeration. You should also get rid of every article that are not needed. 'The' becomes a redundance as much as all the 'This is'. A poem doesn't have to be read like a novel. Minimalistic in modern poetry is the way.
A title? A modern poem doesn't need a title. A poetry book needs one. Just percutant figures of style.
